1. Creating a shabby chic archway for your rustic wedding or
event is made easy with our reusable wire arch. First, choose your
fabric. We went with burlap fabric and ivory shimmera.
2. Simply weave the fabric through the arch until you have your desired look. We alternated the shimmera and burlap on the top of the arch as we weaved it through to give it the look you see in the photo.
3. Next we wrapped the twig garland around the top of the arch leaving long tails on each side. Like the fabric we played with the garland until we achieved the look we wanted. There's no wrong or right way, it all depends on what you feel looks best.
4. We then then zip tied our opulent teardrop chandelier to the center of the archway. Zip ties are just something we had handy when we were constructing our arch, you can use whatever you have on hand that will secure the chandelier to the arch.
5. Once you have the fabric, garland and chandelier arranged to your liking it's time for the flowers. We went to a local craft store and purchased a variety of different flowers that fit our rustic theme and color palette - white and green hydrangeas, Queen Anne's lace, baby's breath and succulents. If you aren't sure flower arranging is your thing, your florist can easily help you with just a simple snap shot of the arch. You're just essentially creating a garland with the twig garland and flowers.
6. You'll need a few supplies to prep your flowers for hanging - florist wire, florist tape and wire cutters.
7. Once you have your flowers and tools in front of you start by clipping all the stems from your flowers leaving an inch or two to attach the florist wire to. You'll then secure the florist wire to the stem with your florist tape. You'll simple wrap the tape around the stem and wire until it's secured.
8. Once you have all your flowers prepped it's time to attach them to the twig garland. Simply push the wire through the twig, and twist until it's secure. You'll want to start with the largest flowers first and fill in with the smaller flowers. Our motto, "You can never have enough baby's breath."
